Certified DOT/CDL Physical Examinations
Dr. Izzo is a Certified Medical Examiner in Northeast Philadelphia for the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration. We provide affordable DOT/CDL physical examinations, drug and alcohol testing. To accommodate our busy drivers, we offer same day and/or walk-in appointments during our office hours Monday through Friday.
Safety First: It is mandated by federal guidelines that every commercial diver passes the DOT physical exam. The purpose of this test is to check whether a potential driver is fit enough to drive safely at the present time as well as in the foreseeable future. Passing the exam successfully usually means you only have to take the exam once in 24 months time. In some instances this period might be shortened because of medication/s (usually blood pressure) or serious health issues.
Drink Water: Be able to give a urine sample upon arrival. Urinalysis is a required part of the DOT physical exam.
Documentation: Photo ID or any other health related forms/letters/prescriptions from your doctor(s).
Plan Ahead: Avoid sleep deprivation & caffeine the night before and morning of testing (especially if you are concerned about your blood pressure or are on blood pressure medication).
